What can we say about Log Chips LLC and the service they perform? My wife and I were looking for a retirement home to be built on our own property. The location was a little remote and there were some special building requirements to be adhered to. The search for a builder and type of home brought us to a log cabin and Log Chips.
Our first meeting with Fred Krol was more than helpful, it set a standard that he had to live up for the next year. Fred brought us into his own home to showcase a log cabin and log cabin living. From that first meeting a life long friendship developed. He was helpful, understanding and understood our need for guidance that we could trust. Together we designed a log cabin that we could love and live in.
As in any building project, many decisions have to be made. My wife and I were not prepared for this. Log Chips took care of that by offering a selection of vendors and contractors. |

| Kuhns Brothers Log Cabins created with us a floor plan that resulted in a great log cabin home. Log Chips brought together a contracting crew that was more than excellent to put the house together and complete the building. Everyone Log Chips brought onto the jobsite performed professionally and friendly. They also brought with them ideas for finishes and other decisions that we needed help with.
The entire process, from the first meeting at Log Chips to the move in day was the best experience my wife and I could possibly have due to their professionalism, expertise and friendliness during the entire project. We know that as he was during the project Fred and Log Chips were and will be available for us at anytime we have questions or concerns". Jim and Sammy Killilea |

Log Home Renovations
If your plans include a home renovation, you might want to consider log siding. Virtually nothing else comes even close to creating the warm ambience achieved by genuine solid logs and log siding. Just examine the following “before” and “after” examples by clicking the photo to the right.

Blessed with a spectacular view in all directions, the owner of the home to the right wanted to achieve a rustic appearance that was compatible with the surrounding rural environment.

| The LOG CHIPS answer was to design and build a solid log addition and apply matching kiln-dried log siding to the entire home. To create the total custom log home look, authentic 8x8 and 6x8 porch and truss components were added. |

One Project
Came time to replace the siding on his house, the homeowner was looking for a warmer look, blending nicely with his lakefront setting. Log Chips accomplished just that by adding kiln-dried log siding and replacing the deck and railings with full round logs and iron posts. A 6 x 8 truss system was also added to create a more authentic log home look. |
